Chainsaws are the ultimate tool when it comes to felling trees and other related tasks. The time it takes to cut down a tree with a chainsaw is much less than it is with manual saws or axes. Now, you probably don’t need an introduction into what a chainsaw is. Instead, I’ll start by informing you about the advancements in chainsaw technology in recent years.

Gas operated chainsaws are still the top choice for commercial work but electric chainsaws are quickly closing the gap in usefulness. Most high-end electric chainsaws are battery operated so you can take them whenever you want. On the other hand, there are plenty of corded options as well.

Both gas and electric chainsaws have their perks. For most, gas-powered engines offer everything they need and more. However, electric-powered chainsaws are a great option for small amounts of work, especially in small and suburban yards.

Brands of Chainsaws

This list isn’t comparing one chainsaw to another; it’s not a “best of the best” list. It’s simply an organized list of all the companies that make either gas or electric-powered chainsaws. I’ve sorted the brands in alphabetical order and I’ll do my best to update this list in the future. If you know of a brand I didn’t add to this page, please let me know in the comment section below.

The Arksen brand makes a bunch of products including a 22″, 45cc gasoline-powered chainsaw with a 2-stroke engine. I know very little about this company; in fact, I just happened to find their chainsaw on a quick google search. They don’t have a website, aside from a facebook page, so it’s possible that they’re a new company.
